What size boots should I get in men sizes?

I’m a size 6 in women’s shoes and I was wondering what size boots should I get in mens? I know I would be a size 4.5 in men but they only have size 4 or 5. What size should I get? Thank-you.
If this helps, I live in California. I’m not sure about the different measurements. I’ve heard a women’s size is 1.5 measures smaller.

Probably 5 because if they are boots you want a little wiggle room and your going to have socks on as well
